OF MY GRÖNHOLDT (SE)
I ’m born 1986 in Sweden and I’m based in Copenhagen as a freelance dancer, performer, visual artist and choreographer. I’m educated at the Danish National School of Contemporary Dance in Copenhagen (Head of Dance Jeremy Nelson) and I did my internship with Sasha Waltz and Troika Ranch in Berlin, and graduated in 2011.
Artisticly I work with independent DIY projects on my own or with other artists in collective collaborations. Recently I have been working internationally with innovative and experimental pieces and art projects in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, England, Germany, France and Holland.
Choreographically I work with the transformation of a concept into a physical landscape. I’m interested in installation work and visual art combined with the wild and moving body in space. I love humor and I enjoy the poetic, surreal, absurd, alternative and experimental performer on stage. To make art is my way of understanding life and what I would say reality.
I also think about how I want to communicate with an audience and I’m always questioning the role of a perfomer?
When I work I enjoy interdisciplinary collaborations between different people and art forms to find new ways of articulating an idea. I like to explore meetings, discussions, experiments and I love to take risks and try new things out. I explore the universe of the unknown and I like to be lost and to let go. I often work with a simple straightforward idea and concept, where there is space for complex reflections and personal thoughts.
Nature, animals, society, politics, my own life experiences, feelings, music, parties, people and travelling inspire me in my artistic work.
